Our Breeding Philosophy

At Poodles on Parade, our mission is to give each puppy the best start in life possible. We’re a small, hands-on breeder that focuses on health, structure, genetics, and temperament. We raise our puppies right in our home, ensuring they are socialized, handled, and loved from day one.

We’ve spent years studying breeding practices and early puppy development to produce exceptional Standard Poodles that are not only beautiful and intelligent, but also well-balanced and healthy.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)

We use Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), a program originally developed by the U.S. Military. This is like a “stress-proofing” routine that starts at day 3 of the puppy’s life and ends on day 16. ENS helps our puppies grow into confident, resilient, and adaptable adults. It improves their stress tolerance, emotional stability, and future learning abilities.

Early Scent Introduction (ESI)

Alongside ENS, we perform Early Scent Introduction (ESI). Each day, puppies are introduced to new scents, which helps boost their confidence, curiosity, and scenting ability. This is beneficial not just for families interested in service or hunting dogs, but for anyone who wants a well-rounded companion.

Volhard Puppy Testing & Professional Evaluation

We also carefully evaluate our puppies for Service Dog, Therapy Dog, and Emotional Support Dog potential. We use the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test (PAT), a renowned temperament test, to understand each puppy’s personality.

To ensure the best results, we bring in a professional outside trainer to assist with Volhard scoring. This means every puppy is assessed fairly and accurately, ensuring we can match them perfectly with their future families.
