The Importance of Balanced Nutrition for Your Poodle
When it comes to keeping your poodle happy and healthy, one of the most important factors is balanced nutrition. Poodles are energetic, intelligent dogs with a distinctive coat that really benefits from a well-rounded diet. That means choosing a kibble that’s not just tasty, but also packed with the right nutrients.
What to Look for in Quality Kibble
First, you’ll want to look for high-quality protein sources, since poodles thrive on good protein for muscle development and energy. Ingredients like real chicken, lamb, or fish are great options. Next, healthy fats, like omega fatty acids, will help keep that curly poodle coat shiny and their skin healthy.
Finally, you’ll want to make sure the kibble has a good balance of vitamins and minerals—things like calcium for strong bones and antioxidants for overall immune support.
Wrapping It Up
In short, feeding your poodle a balanced and nutritious kibble is one of the best ways to keep them in top shape. It’s not just about filling their bowl; it’s about fueling their adventures and making sure they look and feel their absolute best.

Early Socialization Tips for Your Poodle Puppy (and Staying Safe Before Vaccinations)
Welcoming a new poodle puppy into your home is such an exciting time! One of the key parts of raising a well-rounded poodle is early socialization. Here are some tips to help you get started:
Introduce New Environments Gradually: Let your poodle puppy explore different parts of your home and yard. Once they’re comfortable, you can introduce them to a friend’s house or a calm, safe area outside.
Meet Different People and Animals: Let your puppy meet a variety of people—adults, children, and even other friendly dogs if possible. This helps them grow into a confident and sociable adult dog.
Handling and Grooming Practice: Get them used to gentle handling early on. Touch their paws, ears, and tail so grooming and vet visits will be easier down the line.
Important Safety Note: Avoid High-Risk Areas Until Fully Vaccinated
While early socialization is important, remember not to take your puppy to places like dog parks, pet stores, or anywhere with unknown dogs until they’ve had all their vaccinations. This helps keep them safe from illnesses.
Mastering Line Brushing for Your Poodle’s Coat
When it comes to keeping a poodle’s coat in top shape, line brushing is a game-changer. This technique helps you thoroughly brush through your poodle’s curls, ensuring no tangles or mats are left behind.
What is Line Brushing?
Line brushing is a method where you brush the coat layer by layer. You gently hold back sections of fur and brush a “line” of hair at a time. This ensures you reach all the way down to the skin, removing any hidden tangles.
Tools You’ll Need
To get started, you’ll want a good slicker brush and a sturdy grooming comb. These tools will help you work through each layer of the coat effectively. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1MKKJKG24K1IX?ref_=wl_share
Why It’s Important
Line brushing is especially important for poodles because their curly coats can easily hide mats close to the skin. Regular line brushing not only keeps them comfortable but also keeps their coat looking fabulous.
From Fluff to Fabulous: Understanding Your Poodle Puppy’s Coat Transformation
When you bring home a poodle puppy, one of the most delightful surprises is their fluffy, soft puppy coat. But as your poodle grows, you’ll notice that this initial coat starts to change—and that’s totally normal! In this post, we’ll walk you through what to expect as your poodle transitions from their adorable puppy fluff to their elegant adult curls.
The Puppy Coat Stage
In the first few months of life, poodle puppies sport a very soft and often wavy coat. It’s one of the things that makes them extra cuddly! This initial puppy coat is typically less curly and more plush to the touch. It also doesn’t shed much, which is a nice perk.
When the Change Happens
Usually around the age of six to nine months, you’ll start to see the puppy coat give way to the denser, curlier adult coat. This change can be gradual and you might notice a mix of textures for a while. As the adult coat comes in, it becomes curlier and may require more frequent grooming to prevent matting.
Grooming Through the Transition
As your poodle’s coat changes, this is a great time to get them used to regular brushing and grooming. The adult coat is more prone to tangles, so gentle, consistent grooming will keep them comfortable. This is also a perfect bonding activity!
One technique that’s really helpful during this stage is line brushing. Line brushing means brushing the coat layer by layer to make sure you reach all the way down to the skin and remove any tangles thoroughly. We’ll dive into the details of line brushing in a future post, but it’s a great method to keep in mind as your puppy’s coat evolves.
The Wonderful World of Poodles: What Makes Them So Special?
Poodles are often recognized for their elegant looks and distinctive curly coats, but there’s so much more to these dogs than meets the eye. Whether you’re a seasoned poodle owner or just poodle-curious, let’s dive into what makes these dogs such a beloved breed.
Poodles come in three sizes—standard, miniature, and toy—but all share the same intelligence and lively personality. Known for being incredibly smart, poodles are often ranked among the most intelligent dog breeds. This makes them highly trainable and eager to learn, which is a big plus for anyone looking to teach their dog new tricks or even advanced obedience.
Poodles are also known for their hypoallergenic coats, which can be a blessing for people with allergies. Their curly fur does require regular grooming, but many owners enjoy the bonding time that comes with brushing and trimming their poodle’s coat.
In short, poodles are more than just pretty faces. They’re loyal companions, quick learners, and a joy to have as part of the family. Whether you’re considering adding a poodle to your household or you’re already a proud poodle parent, there’s always something new to learn and love about these remarkable dogs.
Denver goes home
Denver (now Lola) went to her forever home today. She already loves her big brother Kai. Kai’s parents are Paris and Hugo, just like Lola. It was so much fun getting to see them meet for the first time!!! They were immediately best friends 🥰
Puppy updates
I love getting updates after puppies have gone home. Seeing them thriving in their forever homes makes me so happy. Here are a few updated pictures that I’ve received this week. 🥰
Busy Busy little mama’s
We have had a very busy few weeks! Pippi had 5 gorgeous apricot and red Toy Poodles on November 17th. Her first litter she only had a single puppy, she has done a great job of learning how to manage 5 little babies all at the same time. Her sweet babies have their eyes open now and are starting to take adorable wobbly steps.
Bling had her first litter on November 24th. She did amazing for delivery and loves her sweet little Bichpoo puppies so much. I’m so proud of her! She had 5 sweet babies too. She had all boys and there are some great colors. Everything from cream to dark brown sable. I definitely need to get some pictures of these babies. One of the dark sables has light colored eyebrows. We will see when his colors come in better, but he might be a phantom sable.
Aspen had her babies on November 28th. She had 8 adorable Standard Poodle babies, 4 girls and 4 boys. Aspen is always a great mom and keeps those babies very well fed. Even with babies she still wants her morning hugs. She’s definitely missing her cuddle time, but loves having puppies.
And last but not least, Lady had her babies on November 30th. She has 4 tiny Maltipoo puppies. She has 3 girls and 1 boy. She has a great variety of colors as well. This is Lady’s second litter, she struggled a little with the first litter. It just took a little while for her to learn that they are her priority. She might be a little spoiled 🤏🏻 She’s the carry me around in a sash carrier all day long type of spoiled baby, but hey we both love it 🤷🏻♀️
All 22! Yes 22 babies are doing so good and growing like weeds. We have been doing ENS and ESI with the babies since they were just 3 days old. It is always so fun to see what scents the babies like and don’t like. Who is inquisitive and who couldn’t care less. It’s also a lot of fun to see the trust and confidence that is being built each day with ENS.
I haven’t taken very many pictures of the babies yet, but will starting getting pictures of them soon. Top picture is Pippi’s Toy Poodle puppies, bottom picture is Lady’s Maltipoo puppies.
Denver’s turn to play
Today was Denver’s turn to play in the leaves. She absolutely loved it and I got some adorable videos of her. Who would have thought that nature could provide the best puppy toys ever? 😂 According to the puppies it’s the best and most versatile toy out there… you can throw them, bury yourself in them, chew on them, dig in them, and so much more! Nature for the win!!! 🍁 🍁🍁
Leaves are so much fun
Puppies and leaves make a great combination. Today Berlin and I spent a long time playing in the leaves. Picture time turned into a whole adventure and he had so much fun. It was so funny to watch him as he figured out different ways to play with them… you can throw them, slide on them, burrow in them, roll in them, chase them, and so much more.
Happy birthday
Today is my birthday, but you get the present!!! Anyone who claims a puppy today through November 20th will get a very special discount. Send me a message for more details. I just have a few sweet babies left (poodles and aussiedoodles).
Picture day
Puppy picture day is always so much fun. I love when they show off their personalities in their photos. Some of them are so calm and love posing for pictures, while others just want to run and play. It is such a joy to capture these gorgeous babies having so much fun. Sometimes I just have to go with the flow and let them decide what pictures we are going to take. This sweet boy absolutely did not want to stand on the photo bench, so we got some stunning pictures with him playing in the leaves. He had a blast and you can definitely see the joy in his eyes. Puppies definitely teach you to go with the flow and that everything isn’t going to go exactly how you plan. They always remind you simple, but great life lessons.
Boogie the Parti Poodle
Boogie and I flew to Chicago today for him to meet his forever family. He did great for the flights, we had to fly from Tulsa to Dallas and then from Dallas to Chicago. Sometimes flights don’t make sense, but it’s part of it. On both flights when we started to get up after landing, the people around us were so surprised that there had been a puppy right there and they had no idea. Once we got to Chicago, we had to walk what definitely felt like a mile from our gate to baggage claim where they met us. Boogie instantly fell in love with his forever family, they of course already loved him and had been waiting for him for quite a while. I’m so thankful for my mom and her willingness to help when I get to travel to take puppies to new places. I wouldn’t be able to deliver puppies without her help.

Puppies Going Home
Reaching the times for puppies to go home is always bittersweet. I love seeing them go to their well-suited forever homes, but I miss them when they go. One girl went home today and three went home yesterday. They all found amazing homes, which is always the goal. Every single puppy that I sell takes a piece of my heart with them, it sure is a good thing I have a big heart! I absolutely love what I do, and love being able to provide other people and families with amazing poodles and doodles. My puppies impress me everyday with how confident, calm, smart, and curious they are. Poodles are simply wonderful and I love them so much.
